JONATHAN PEARSON

JONATHAN PEARSON

If Jonathan Pearson is sitting still, it’s because he’s on an airplane. The London-based director is only home… sometimes. He’s shot all over the world, in countries such as Japan, Mexico, Iceland, Ethiopia, Tunisia, Taiwan, South Africa, Chile, Canada, The UAE, Brazil, The US, and nearly every country in Europe.  He’s exhausted.

In addition to collecting passport stamps, Pearson has also racked up numerous awards for his commercial work, including several Cannes Lions, Clios, One Show Pencils, D&AD Pencils, RTS Awards. His extensive portfolio ranks Netflix, Samsung, Vodafone, Sky, Mercedes, and McLaren among the many studios and brands who’ve taken hold of his sharp photographer’s eye and highly visual, cinematic styling.

So it’s only fitting that Idris and Sabrina Elba chose him to direct their campaign for The UN this year, which honestly was a sweaty (but beautiful) time in Tunisia for everyone.

Pearson is also the co-creator of the BAFTA Award winning mini-series Run, starring Olivia Coleman herself. His branded micro-series Z for HP was screened at the Tribeca Film Festival under their branded programming banner, and later became the first commercial content airing on the NBC/Universal streamer, Peacock.

Jonathan Pearson is a reformed DJ, and as such, loves the feeling of everyone coming together on the proverbial dance floor on set, with their specific skills and expertise in collaboration to create something special. (Actual dancing is not required, but highly encouraged.)
